My passion for photography has been lifelong. After obtaining my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Ringling School of Art and Design, I was employed for many years in the photography department of a Raleigh design firm.

When my daughter was born in 1996, I surprised my wife with birth announcements created from a photograph I took at the hospital shortly after delivery. One of these announcements was posted on the bulletin board of the obstetrician’s office and the doctor received so many inquiries that he asked for business cards to pass out to expectant mothers. The orders for my unique birth announcements started to come in and my photography business was born. In 2001, I left my job and opened a studio in Raleigh.

With digital technology taking over traditional methods, these past few years have been an exciting time to be a photographer, yet the qualities that make the difference between a snapshot and a work of art, remain the same. I strive to combine the elements of timeless craftsmanship with today's technology and create photographs my clients will be proud to display for years to come.
